Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a disorder of the lung caused due to obstruction of the airflow. As the name suggests, it is chronic I.e. long-lasting in nature and cannot be reversed. However, one can prevent the condition from being life-threatening if one identifies the symptoms and gets the condition treated quickly. It should be noted that COPD isn't a disease in itself, but rather it comprises any of the three major conditions like chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and chronic asthma (or chronic asthmatic bronchitis). Before knowing about COPD symptoms, let's know more on this disease.
